Thankfully the college football season is coming to a close so we can stop losing our ATS best bets. Last week was pretty much the same as the previous weeks, with us having no luck and picking the wrong team.

Here’s one of the final versions of our Lockness Monsters for the regular season.

Last week: 1-4 ATS

Season: 24-36-1 ATS

Washington State (+7.5) at Washington

The disrespect is continuing for the Cougars. Despite winning three games in a row, with two of those wins against UCLA and Arizona State, the betting public is not believing the hype for Washington State.

We’ve been waiting for a letdown, but haven’t seen one yet.

That’s why we love getting a touchdown against the Huskies. Washington has been better than we believed, but we’re not sure why the homefield advantage gives them more than a touchdown.

The Cougars have shown the ability to play defense in addition to a prolific passing game. There’s not much reason to break this down. Washington State continues to not receive the credit they deserve and will once again show why the Cougars are one of the best teams in the Pac-12. — Go against the chalk with Washington State

Ohio State at Michigan (+1)

Has Ohio State given up? We’re not so sure they haven’t given up on the season. With the national title hopes dashed last week, we could see a major letdown from the Buckeyes.

And even if they haven’t given up, Ohio State just hasn’t been a good football team this season. The offense has sputtered continuously and the defense has shown problems at times this season.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines have continued to improve, and we like the edge Michigan should have coming into this rivalry game. This means something to Michigan. We’re not so sure if means that much to the Buckeyes. — Go against the chalk with Michigan

Florida State at Florida (+3)

We understand why the opening line has swung six points. But we’re not buying the betting public’s response.

Who have the Seminoles beaten this year? Louisville? Wake Forest? Look at that schedule and see if you can find a quality win. You may be looking for awhile.

We don’t like Florida State’s offense against a competent defense. That’s why we don’t care that the line has moved from the Gators being three-point favorites, to Florida State owning the favorite tag. The Gators’ offense has looked horrendous in recent weeks and that shouldn’t change too much this week.

But that defense will be able to stop Florida State consistently, and we get the homefield advantage. If you’ll give us three points, we’ll gladly take them. — Go against the chalk with Florida

Louisville (-5) at Kentucky

We’ve seen these teams go in opposite directions as of late.

The Wildcats started strong, but have since disappeared. The Cardinals, which started slow, have since become a tough out for any team.

That’s why we’re backing the Cardinals in this one. Bobby Petrino has coached this team to getting better each week, while the Wildcats just haven’t done much for us lately.

The Wildcats have been bad on both sides of the ball and that won’t get any better this week. Go with the Cardinals. –– Go chalk with Louisville

Northwestern (-3.5) at Illinois

We know the public is probably looking at the Fighting Illini as a logical choice to upset the Wildcats. Illinois is pretty much fighting for its head coach’s job.

However, Northwestern is good enough to expect it to win. The Wildcats haven quietly compiled a good amount of victories and have been tough on the road this season, with only one loss away from home.

Illinois disappointed us last week against a bad Minnesota team, so we don’t expect much out of Illinois.
