Even for this part of the season, the waiver wire still features plenty of solid two-start pitchers on the fantasy baseball waiver wire.

Strikeouts are usually difficult to find, but there’s some options in week 12 in fantasy baseball. Here’s the best bets for the two-start pitchers on the week 12 fantasy baseball waiver wire.

Jhoulys Chacin, Milwaukee Brewers

Chacin has been my dominant two-start pitcher for two years, but the rest of the fantasy baseball world is starting to catch on to his above-average skills.

With usually an ownership level close to 15 percent, Chacin can be found on about 35 percent of fantasy baseball rosters this week. Being a two-start pitcher helps, but he’s also winning games. He’s 3-0 in his last three starts, and he’s gone at least five innings in every start since May.

Since the beginning of May, he’s allowed more than two earned runs only twice. He also is recording some strikeouts in recent games, going for 19 strikeouts in the last three games.

Matchups this week feature tilts against Pittsburgh and St. Louis. The Pirates aren’t a great matchup, but the Cardinals are the 21st-rated offense in terms of runs. Chacin is good enough that he’s easily a trustworthy option as a two-start pitcher.

Nick Pivetta, Philadelphia Phillies

If you want some strikeouts, Pivetta is your best bet on the waiver wire.

Pivetta is striking batters out at a 10.1 9 inning rate, which is good enough for regular ownership in fantasy baseball. The only problem is that he’s not winning many games.

Pivetta has four straight losses, allowing 10 earned runs in his last two outings. That’s not the best look heading into a two-start week.

However, I’m not completely fading him yet. He’s gone at least five innings in three of the last four games. And in his previous four games, before this latest two-game rough patch, he gave up more than two earned runs only once.

He has good matchups this week, squaring off against St. Louis and Washington, so go ahead and grab some strikeouts and anticipate better outings by Pivetta.
