It’s not often you see a wide receiver go for more than 50 fantasy points in one outing. And that’s especially true with a player like Will Fuller, who hasn’t been anywhere near the WR1 this year.
Maybe it’s because Atlanta’s defense is horrible. Or maybe it’s because Deshaun Watson has the capability to do this to opposing defenses. Whatever the reason, Fuller was a nice surprise for fantasy owners in week 5. We’ll see if he can keep up the pace in week 6 and beyond in the week 6 fantasy football wide receivers start ’em, sit’ em guide.
Start
DJ Chark Jr. vs. New Orleans Saints
Chark isn’t even owned in all of the fantasy football leagues, so if he’s still on your league’s waiver wire, he’s worth a look. Chark has been a pleasant surprise this season in an offense that has been very surprising in its fantasy prowess.
Gardner Minshew II is being trusted with throwing the ball all over the place and Chark has been a major beneficiary. He has 19 targets with more than 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns in the last two weeks.
The Saints are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. That should bode well for the Jaguars passing game, so go ahead and start Chark as a WR2 in week 6.
Will Fuller vs. Kansas City Chiefs
OK, we’ll go ahead and give Fuller another shot.
Fuller had been wildly disappointing this season before his outburst in week 6, which has put him in the top-10 among wide receivers in fantasy scoring. That proves that season-long fantasy point production can be misleading at times, but the way that Fuller was able to have separation in week 5 gives me hope for this week against a Kansas City defense not known to be great against wide receivers.
The Chiefs are a bottom-half defense against the pass, so trust Fuller again to put up decent numbers.
Terry McLaurin vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are terrible. And while Washington cannot be trusted, I like to start some fantasy options against the Dolphins.
The best player available in this matchup is McLaurin, so he’s worth a shot in week 6. McLaurin will have risky option at quarterback, but he is still attracting a decent amount of targets. That usually means high quality production against Miami.
McLaurin has at least seven targets in each game this season, so trust McLaurin to put up at least WR2 numbers in week 6.

Stefon Diggs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The matchup bodes well for at least one wide receiver from Minnesota. The Eagles allow the third-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers, so it’s natural to look for someone on the Vikings for a big day.
However, that shouldn’t be Diggs.
He’s upset with his place on Minnesota’s roster and it shows. He’s not hiding the fact that he’s disappointed with his role on the team and that won’t get better in a week. The Eagles will give up some big passing numbers in this game, but don’t count on Diggs. The Vikings won’t.
Marquise Brown vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Surprisingly, the Bengals have given up the sixth fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
The Bengals are generally terrible, but mostly in the running game, which the Ravens will use to beat the Bengals in week 6. Don’t expect much from the passing game in that one, which is a problem for Brown owners.
Since starting off hot this season, Brown has cooled along with the rest of Baltimore’s passing game in the last three games. Brown was a nice story earlier this season, but avoid him in this matchup.
Curtis Samuel vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
At some point, the Panthers are going to have to find another option in the offense other than Christian McCaffrey. For now, though, I don’t see that happening.
The Panthers just don’t have much to like on offense other than McCaffrey. He’s an all-world running back in the rushing and passing games, leaving very little room for anyone else to have an impact. Samuel has generated just seven or fewer targets in four of five games.
Even worse, he hasn’t had more than five catches in a game this season. He’s not worth even a WR3 look in week 6 against Tampa Bay.
