In the preseason, I loved Allen Robinson’s projection as a top-flight wide receiver in fantasy football.

All the ingredients were there for a nice run through the 2018 season, with him being the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in an offense that would be more creative. It only took 10 weeks, but Robinson finally showed up to the 2018 season in a major way.

He tallied the second-most fantasy points among wide receivers in week 10, with 133 yards receiving and two touchdowns against Detroit. Sometimes it takes players a few weeks to start generating better production in fantasy football, a la Doug Baldwin in 2015.

There are plenty of bye weeks in week 11, so here’s the week 11 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em guide for wide receivers.

Start

Allen Robinson vs. Minnesota Vikings

Why stop the support for Robinson?

I anticipated Robinson to earn plenty of targets when prognosticating for 2018, and when he’s been healthy, he’s been decent in the production standpoint. He has touchdowns in three of his last four games played, and now that he appears to be fully healthy, I have to believe he’ll keep playing a major role in this Bears offense.

And with that Bears offense, I believe it will focus more on the pass than the run against a stout Minnesota front seven. At times this season, the Vikings have been susceptible to the pass, so I’m banking on the Bears taking their strategy through the air, rather than on the ground.

Larry Fitzgerald vs. Oakland Raiders

Everybody has a heyday against the Oakland Raiders, so why not Fitzgerald?

It’s been a struggle this season for pretty much every offensive player on the Cardinals, including Fitzgerald. But while the numbers have diminished greatly, there’s reason for hope. Fitzgerald has quietly netted several targets in the last four games. He has at least eight targets apiece in each of the last four games, with a combined 24 targets in the last two games.

Josh Rosen is a good quarterback…I still believe that. And with the more reps he gets this year, the better he’ll be. The Oakland defense is terrible and this game will be close enough that the Cardinals will have to keep airing out the ball for four quarters.

Fitzgerald deserves a spot in starting lineups for week 11 and beyond.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling vs. Seattle Seahawks

Valdes-Scantling has emerged as the No. 2 receiver in a Green Bay offense that pretty much avoids running the football.

He has more than 100 yards receiving in two of the last four games. He also is earning more attention from Aaron Rodgers, which is a good sign, especially against a Seattle defense that is allowing several fantasy points to wide receivers.

The Seahawks are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers in the last four weeks. This defense is not the same as what we’ve witnessed in the past with Seattle. The Packers should be able to air out the ball consistently, helping increase Valdes-Scantling’s value.

Courtland Sutton vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Sutton has been a decent surprise this season, with some above-average yardage totals at times this season.

However, the target share just isn’t enough to continue to start Sutton on a regular basis.

Sutton has five or fewer targets in each of the last four games. He only has two touchdowns on the season and now he is forced to square off against a Chargers defense that is giving up the third-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers.

The Chargers are emerging as one of the better defenses in the NFL and Sutton just doesn’t get enough looks to justify a starting spot.

Doug Baldwin vs. Green Bay Packers

Baldwin just isn’t consistent enough to trust as a WR2 or even a WR3 at this time.

His targets aren’t enough to keep up with low target/high production players, because when Baldwin does catch the ball, he doesn’t find the end zone. Baldwin has just 12 targets combined in the last three games, with less than 40 yards receiving in two of the last three games.

Green Bay has been terrible against the pass in recent weeks, but I don’t believe Baldwin will have enough targets to make an impact against that leaky secondary.

On a short week, expect the Seahawks to ride a solid running game over their passing game against the Packers.

Donte Moncrief vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s tempting to believe in Moncrief.

He’s been OK as a fantasy weapon, generating at least 75 yards receiving in four of the last six games. He’s been up and down with this targets, but in this year’s fantasy football landscape, it’s tough to argue with those yardage totals.

However, despite the upside, Moncrief will have to square off against a Pittsburgh defense that is improving every week. The Steelers are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers in the last four weeks.

And Moncrief is in an offense that is too unpredictable to trust in a tough matchup.
