Keep an eye on the injury report this time of year in fantasy baseball. Players who were designated to the disabled list earlier this season are starting to make their way back to rosters.

That holds a key this week for my two-start pitchers. Here’s my favorite two-start pitchers in week 13 of the fantasy baseball season.

Shelby Miller offers a good possibility of producing quality starts as a two-start pitcher. Flickr

Shelby Miller, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks

Miller is returning this week from a long stay on the disabled list. So this move can go multiple directions, but if the “good” Miller returns, you have a diamond in the rough.

He’s been on the shelf since April 2017, but he’ll bring a career ERA of 3.67 to the mound against Miami and San Francisco this week.

The one issue with Miller is that the Diamondbacks may be cautious with him, thus allowing him only one start. However, I still like the play of getting Miller based on his ability to possibly stay on your fantasy baseball roster.

He’s a former All-Star who can keep his ERA low and record strikeouts. Finding that on the waiver wire at this juncture of the season is difficult to find. He’s owned in less than 15 percent of leagues on ESPN, so go ahead and take a chance on Miller.

Tyler Mahle, SP, Cincinnati Reds

There’s not a ton of guys available this week for two starts, so be cautious with Mahle.

I like his recent production, going at least five in his last six starts. He also has cobbled together an undefeated streak in June, despite issuing way too many walks.

It’s not just the walks that have me concerned. His matchups aren’t great this week with Atlanta on tap first (fifth-most runs scored this season) and Milwaukee later in the week.

The Brewers don’t offer much resistance, so if Mahle can keep the earned runs at a limited amount against Atlanta, he has a great shot at two quality starts this week.
