A drama-less college football season is coming to a close.

The two best teams pretty much steam-rolled through the regular season and the playoff, so now we’re in the title game…again…with Clemson against Alabama. There’a a definite talent disparity happening in college football. It’s not unprecedented to see programs dominate for years at a time. It’s just unusual to see the same two teams dominate consistently over a five-year period, with very few teams challenging.

But who cares about the state of college football at the moment in the sports betting world?

This is all about which team is going to cover and if we can mix in a solid over/under for the championship game.

Clemson (+6) vs. Alabama

I’m surprised we’re getting this many points.

Clemson is every bit as good as Alabama, and I could make a strong argument that Clemson is the better team on defense. The Tigers have allowed just 3.9 yards per play this season. Alabama has given up 4.5 yards per play this season, allowing 5.2 yards per play in the last three games.

There are some head-scratching moments by Alabama’s defense and I think Nick Saban knows it. That’s why he was so frustrated in the first playoff game against Oklahoma. He knows there’s something off with this defense, and while it’s good enough to beat Oklahoma, it’s not good enough to stop a Clemson offense that’s one of the best in the nation.

This game is going to be close, so I’m not sure why this line is almost a touchdown. Don’t worry about a freshman quarterback starting for Clemson. The Tigers feel disrespected and have every bit as good of a roster as Alabama. Book the Tigers for not only the cover, but the win. — Go Against The Chalk with Clemson

Over/Under 58

This is simple.

If you’re thinking it’s not going to be close, I would anticipate you’d be hedging toward the under. If it’s not going to be close, then it’s feasible to believe that one defense is dominating, and thus, there won’t be enough points scored to get to the over.

However, I believe this will be close, with both defenses showing some weakness.

I don’t buy into the Crimson Tide’s defense, so I’ll back the over. — Go Over
