There wasn’t much drama in week 9 in the NFL season, at least on Sunday. With all home teams winning, it was a prime opportunity to stay alive in the Survivor Pool.

The Dolphins as a sleeper added a nice surprise for those willing to risk a lot to create an advantage for the remainder of the season. With nine weeks behind us, here’s the week 10 NFL Survivor Pool picks.

Best Bet

Indianapolis Colts

The Dolphins were a nice surprise in a solid spot in week 9 against the New York Jets, but expect the Dolphins to come crashing back to reality.

Miami has been terrible on the road this year, failing to do anything on the defensive side of the ball and losing much of an offensive identity.

The Dolphins still rank in the bottom-two for both yards per play on offense and yards per play allowed on defense.

Indianapolis has one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and I expect Jacoby Brissett to be back in the lineup. Don’t overthink this and expect the Dolphins will be improved.

Sleeper Pick

New York Jets

A week after the Jets looked abysmal in the week 9 loss to the Dolphins, I actually don’t mind them against the Giants in week 10.

New York has a terrible offense, but the Giants have been almost as bad in the last three weeks. The Giants are averaging 4.5 yards per play in the last three weeks, while the Jets are averaging 4.1 yards per play.

Most of all, though, I like the advantage the Jets provide on the defensive side of the ball. The Jets own, by far, the better defense, so I expect that to show up in week 10. If you’re feeling risky, the Jets offer an opportunity.

Be Careful

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

For some reason, Tampa Bay is a 4.5-point favorite against Arizona.

I’m not buying that for a second. The Cardinals are the better team on defense and the offense isn’t far off from Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are generally great at being a letdown and that should be the case once again against Arizona.

The Cardinals have consistently beaten below-average teams this season and have done it on the East Coast. There’s no way I’m taking Tampa Bay in week 10.
