There’s no shortage of contests to enter for college football and NFL in Las Vegas.

Most people already know about the Las Vegas Westgate SuperContest, but even if that’s not in your wheelhouse, Las Vegas offers even more for handicappers eyeing a contest to satisfy their football appetite during the season.

Here’s three college football contests I’m eyeing for the 2018 football season in Las Vegas. As always, a proxy is necessary for out-of-town participants, so make sure to check out Vegas Football Proxy on how to register for each contest. If you’re not sure what a proxy is, check out how they work.

Golden Nugget Ultimate Football Showdown

This contest is unique as it offers participants an opportunity to choose between NFL and college football games.

The entry fee is $1,000 and there’s a maximum of two entries per player. You’re tasked with picking seven games per week against the spread and you can choose between college football and NFL games. Nearly every game on the board at the Golden Nugget is on the contest sheet each week.

The contest runs 17 weeks coinciding with the NFL season. The top-20 finishers receive payouts.

Last year’s total was a bit low at 96 entries, but it was a different format than this year, with a $2,000 entry fee, compared to the lower price this season. There are currently more than 80 entries, so it’s anticipated the list will grow to more than 200, according to Vegas Football Proxy owner Tom Carroll. Deadline to register is 10 p.m. Sept. 4.

William Hill College Pick ’em

If you’re looking for just college football action, this is your best bet in Las Vegas.

The William Hill College Pick ’em is a growing entity in its third year and is less costly than the SuperContest and Ultimate Football Showdown.

The entry fee is $500 with a maximum of four entries per player. Participants must pick seven college football games against the spread from a group of 25 games that are on a weekly contest sheet. The top-10 finishers receive payouts, with a special bonus of $25,000 for the first-place finisher if they select 49 winners.

The contest runs for 10 weeks, starting on Sept. 7.

In 2016, there were 162 entrants, with it growing to 231 in 2017. Carroll expects this contest to draw about 250 participants this season.

Station Casinos College Football Last Man Standing

This one is a fun one, with plenty of participants.

There’s a maximum of five entries per player, with a $25 fee for each entry. If you buy four entries, the fifth is free. For each entry, the participant must pick one college football game per week against the spread from a group of 25 games on the contest sheet.

If your team covers, that entry advances.

Sounds easy, but as anyone knows by playing Survivor Pools, it’s not that simple, especially playing against the spread.

There are usually about 2,500 entries, Carroll said, with 2,755 entries in 2017. The winner took home $56,075 last year.
