It’s still the Kansas City Royals’ American League championship to lose.

The Royals, according to Oddsshark, are +200 to win the AL pennant. One month ago, the Royals also were the favorites.

That has been unchanged for the majority of the Major League Baseball season. What has been changed is the Detroit Tigers fall from the top. The Tigers are now +1600 to win the pennant. One month ago, the Tigers owned the second-best odds to reach the World Series from the American League.

Now the Tigers are seventh on the list.

The New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels are still toward the top in the race for the pennant. It makes sense those teams are two through four, since they own the two through four seeds for the MLB playoffs now.

The Yankees are going off at +500, while the Angels are at +600 and the Astros are +800.

From there, the numbers drop, with the Toronto Blue Jays next in line at +1200 and the Baltimore Orioles tied with the Minnesota Twins and Tigers at +1600. The Twins currently are one game ahead of the OriolesĀ for the second Wild Card spot. Toronto is two games back.

Two teams that have recently climbed the standings in the Wild Card race- the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers – are still toward the bottom of odds to win the AL pennant. Both teams are 3.5 games out of the second Wild Card spot, and the White Sox have gotten there by going 8-2 in their last 10 games, while the Rangers have gone 7-3.

However, the White Sox are tied with Boston, Cleveland and Tampa Bay at +2500 to win the pennant, while the Rangers are +3300 to win the pennant.
