Detroit Tigers pitcher Kyle Lobstein likely went from rosters to the waiver wire this past week, instead of being an option for fantasy owners to consider for a two-start pitcher this coming week.

With a favorable matchup coming up, Lobstein should get consideration this coming week as a two-start option for fantasy owners.

Lobstein got roughed up May 13 against the Minnesota Twins. He threw 2 1/3 innings, allowing six earned runs and seven hits. The good news is he only walked one. However, he only recorded one strikeout and took the loss.

This is a new week, though, and he’s likely available on the waiver wire.

Lobstein is slated to start Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers, meaning he will face an offense that has struggled this year, especially against left-handers. The Brewers are the worst team in Major League Baseball against leftys. In fact, Milwaukee is hitting .191 this season when squaring off against left-handed pitchers.

Offensively, Milwaukee has notched 29 total runs against left-handed pitchers, also toward the bottom in MLB.

Lobstein is facing Mike Fiers, who already has been described as a pitcher to pick up on the waiver wire. But if the trend continues for the Brewers, Lobstein should be able to bounce back from his recent bad outing.

So far, 2015 hasn’t been all bad for Lobstein. He’s 3-3 with 16 strikeouts. Those aren’t great numbers, but in his four starts before his recent outing against the Twins, he went six or more innings, while winning two of the contests.

He may not be an option for the season for fantasy owners, but with another outing scheduled against the Houston Astros this week, fantasy owners should be able to depend on him to produce for at least this week.
