Finding a quality closer at this time of the year is difficult, especially on the waiver wire.

If fantasy owners aren’t willing to trade for a closer, then finding a diamond in the rough is necessary in the closer category.

For most fantasy baseball leagues, San Francisco Giants closer Santiago Casillo is likely owned. However, out of many of the top closer options, thereĀ is a chance that he isn’t owned in some leagues, meaning he would be the best option for many interested in a closer.

In May, Casillo has four saves and two wins. For the season, Casillo is just outside the top 10 in saves with 10. He also owns four wins to go along with a sub-2.00 ERA.

Especially with the option to own multiple relievers, Casillo can hold his own on many fantasy baseball teams.

If he’s available, he would be worth a roster spot, especially with the Giants’ recent ability to win games.
