Boston Red Sox pitcher Wade Miley is no stranger to coming and going off fantasy baseball rosters. His ability to throw strikeouts, with almost seven strikeouts per nine innings during his career, has him as a regular contributor to fantasy baseball rosters.

His 3.79 career ERA has him as a regular name on the waiver wire, too.

Miley is a transient member of fantasy baseball teams, with him being able to offer strikeouts, but also unable to remain consistent enough to stay on fantasy baseball rosters.

Miley is once again on the waiver wire, and he has three starts coming up in the next week-and-a-half. He can provide fantasy baseball owners with a back-end start this week and give two starts next week.

Upcoming in the next three games, Miley will go on the road to Baltimore, home to Atlanta and at the Royals.

Those don’t seem like great match-ups, but lately, at least two of those offenses have sputtered. In the month of June, the Royals are hitting .215 as a team, ranking them as 28th in Major League Baseball. The Orioles aren’t much better at .238.

Those teams also aren’t scoring runs either, with the Royals ranking 29th in June with 16 runs, and the Orioles hanging toward the back with 23 runs in the month.

Despite Miley’s 5-5 record with a 4.67 ERA on the season, he has two of his upcoming three starts against offenses not able to put up runs on the board. He hasn’t done as much with strikeouts this season yet, with a 5.7 strikeouts per nine innings, but he’s gone for six and seven strikeouts in two of his last four games.

He won’t be a season-long option, but Miley can provide quality starts during the next week-and-a-half for fantasy baseball owners.
