The mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire will be here before you know it, and if a position player is on the list of needs, consider these two players who are still on most waiver wires.

Cameron Maybin

He’s getting on base. He’s scoring runs. And he’s stealing bases. Oh, and he’s likely available on the waiver wire as an outfielder for the Atlanta Braves.

This season, Maybin is hitting .299 with 23 runs, five homers, 27 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and a .371 on-base percentage. His season totals don’t match his true value, though.

Right now, he’s as hot as anyone in Major League Baseball.

In the last week, he’s batting .542, with three stolen bases, and five runs and RBIs apiece. He has multi-hit games in his last five contests, and eight in his last 10 games.

He ranks 16th in stolen bases in MLB, and he’s done that in 48 games. He also is competitive in various categories among outfielders in a limited role thus far.

With him playing a more prominent role, he’s worth a look given his ability to be competitive in multiple areas.

Maikel Franco

The Philadelphia Phillies third baseman doesn’t have much to show for this season in terms of production.

He’s batting .253, with 16 RBIs, 14 runs and one stolen base. His six home runs rank him 13th among third baseman, but just a week ago that number was far less than today.

Franco is turning the corner at the plate. In his last seven games, he has four homers, eight RBIs, seven runs and a .448 batting average. Franco’s production this season matched what he did in the last week. That’s quite a turnaround, and the Phillies could use the added momentum.

Franco isn’t going to turn around a team, but if your team is looking for a rejuvenated player at third base, Franco looks to be an option.
