During the next few months, several prospects will make their way to Major League Baseball. Fantasy baseball owners may be looking for a jolt during the next several weeks, meaning that all options are on the table, especially when it comes to potential booms off the waiver wire.

Here are two players who haven’t been picked up yet on the waiver wire who could rejuvenate a fantasy baseball roster. Be careful, though, young players can go bust quickly.

Robert Refsnyder

New York Yankees fans have wanted to see second baseman Robert Refsnyder all season. He made his Major League debut just before the All-Star break, and in his limited action in the big leagues, is 2-for-7 with one home run and two RBIs.

Obviously that doesn’t give fantasy baseball owners much to go on, but if he can stay above the .200 mark in batting average, he will be more productive at the position than regular second baseman Stephen Drew, who’s batting .182.

Fantasy baseball owners can depend on Refsnyder as a regular starting second baseman. Now, it’s all about if he can produce, and his Minor League Baseball numbers have shown he can drive in runs and steal bases. During four Minor League seasons, he mustered a .296 batting average with 31 homers, 179 RBIs (with 63 during the 2014 season) and 53 stolen bases.

If the Yankees utilize him on the basepaths, he could be a steal for fantasy baseball owners.

Aaron Hicks

The youth movement has exploded in Minnesota and Aaron Hicks is contributing to the improved expectations.

The outfielder is seeing more consistent playing time, starting in every game since July 3. Since July 3, he’s shown the ability to drive in runs and score some, too.

Six of his 15 runs this season have come since July 3 and seven of his nine RBIs have come in that time. For the season, he’s also been difficult for the opposition on the basepaths, with seven stolen bases. Two of his three home runs also have occurred in the last two weeks.

If he can continue to get playing time, Hicks could add a multitude of production in several fantasy baseball categories. He’s still on the waiver wire in almost all fantasy baseball leagues, so he could be worth a look if you’re in need of an outfielder.
