The playoff push is on for many fantasy football owners, and if your team is good enough to compete for a playoff spot, then you likely haven’t spent a great deal of time combing the waiver wire.

But with the playoffs coming up, there’s always room for improvement, and now is the time to pick up those pieces that could complete your playoff roster for the better.

Here’s the best waiver wire adds for week 12 in fantasy football.

Thomas Rawls, Seattle, Running Back

Seattle’s passing game is limited, so as long as Marshawn Lynch on the bench, Rawls is a top-10 option at the running back position in fantasy football.

When he’s gotten opportunities, he’s made the most of them, rushing for more than 100 yards three times this season, including a 209-yard outburst last week against San Francisco.

With Lynch’s uncertainty at the running back position, Rawls is a must-add if he’s available. He will be the top add this week, so if you’re at the bottom of the waiver ranking, you better hope the players ahead of you have given up all hope for the season.

Javorius Allen, Baltimore, Running Back

Injuries are making backup running backs a hot commodity on the waiver wire. Allen also will be a top item this week as he will man the main role for the Ravens with Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro out for the season.

Allen responded last week with Forsett out with more than 100 total yards, rushing for 67 and receiving for 48 against the St. Louis Rams.

He’s only a rookie, so it’s a little early to tell if he will pay dividends for fantasy owners. But with the number of touches he’s expected to get in the Matt Schaub-led offense, he’s a must add this week.

Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay, Quarterback

We’ve been high on Winston lately. Now, the rest of the NFL is starting to take notice.

His five touchdown passes last week has helped his case, but he’s progressively gotten better throughout the season.

Since throwing a career-high four interceptions in week 4, he has only two turnovers in the last six games. During that time, he’s also totaled 12 touchdowns, with nine coming through the air and three on the ground.

He’s not throwing for a high number of passing yards, because the running game has been a major contributor to his development. That should continue, so his passing yards may not overwhelm fantasy owners. But in a time where quarterbacks can get injured, Winston is a good option to have on your roster.

Tevin Coleman, Atlanta, Running Back

Coleman wasn’t impressive in his time to shine last week with Devonta Freeman going out with injury.

But if Freeman misses extended time, Coleman could put up solid fantasy numbers.

Freeman was one of the best running backs in the NFL at one point, and that was likely because the offensive line was good enough to open holes.

The Falcons have shown the ability to run the football, so as long as Freeman is out, Coleman is a solid add.

Devin Funchess, Carolina, Wide Receiver

Funchess is starting to insert himself in Carolina’s offense.

The rookie took awhile to get on his feet, but he’s amassed double-digit points in two of the last three games for the Panthers, and has emerged as a big target for Cam Newton.

He registered eight targets last week against Washington, and coach Ron Riveria had high praise for Funchess after the game. With few options in the passing game for Newton, Funchess may start seeing more targets his way, giving fantasy owners a boost in the wide receiver department.
