With the NFL schedule being released this week, it’s not too early to look at the early returns for the opening lines of the first week match-ups in the NFL.
The season will open with the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to New England. According to Oddsshark.com, the Patriots are a 6.5 point favorite. Despite winning the Super Bowl last year, the Patriots started out last season on such a bad note that many had predicted the team had finally lost out on its common theme of winning.
The Pats were 2-2, which included a loss at Miami, a 16-9 win against Oakland, and a thrashing on Monday Night Football against Kansas City. To start the 2014 season, the Pats were 1-3 against the spread.
The Steelers will enter the contest after losing in the first round of the playoffs against the Ravens. The Steelers also experienced a rocky beginning last year to the beginning of the season, which included a loss to Tampa Bay.
