The second round of the NBA playoffs will continue with one game Sunday.

The NBA playoffs record so far is 15-31-1. Odds are provided by Oddsshark.com.

LA Clippers at Houston (+1.5)

The latter part of the second round hasn’t been good for Against The Chalk. The losing continued with the Warriors and Hawks taking care of business May 15.

Now, it’s the time for the Clippers to assume their real personality. Is this the team that showed the grit and toughness we hadn’t seen in the past when it defeated the San Antonio Spurs in seven games? Or is this the team that blew a double-digit lead in game six to the Rockets, which looked as if they were ready to quit.

Oddsmakers still believe in the Clippers in game seven, but the confidence is fading. LA went to Houston for game five this week as a 2.5 point favorite. The Clippers lost that game by a wide margin, and I’m not sure what to expect in game seven.

What’s remarkable is the Rockets came all the way back in game six with James Harden on the bench. I’m not sure what that says about the Rockets’ chances in game seven, since that might be a confidence booster to the other players, or it could create dissension on the team.

The better team in this series has been the Clippers. The better team doesn’t always win the series, but in this case, I can’t go against the Clippers. It’s more likely that the better team will win, so I’ll go with the Clippers, albeit with little to no confidence. Pick – LA Clippers
