I’ll stay off the Chase Anderson hype train for awhile. His two-start week didn’t go so well last week, so only Kyle Freeland offered help to my fantasy roster.

Freeland is an interesting pitcher. He doesn’t really do much of anything in the strikeouts department, but his ERA is 3.31 and he has five wins. I’m not keeping him on my roster this week, but he’s worth another two-start option when his time comes.

Here’s my best bets on the fantasy baseball waiver wire for two-start pitchers for the week of May 22.

Mike Foltynewicz, Atlanta Braves, SP

I’m sticking with Foltynewicz. I’ve picked him up before on the waiver wire, and with him being owned in less than 20 percent of leagues on ESPN.com, he’s worth the pick-up this week.

Other than a May 5 shellacking against St. Louis, Foltynewicz has been a solid fantasy option. He’s allowed two of fewer runs in four of six starts. His WHIP isn’t bad at 1.32 and he’s shown in the past to be a decent strikeout pitcher. This year has been a different story in the strikeouts department, but I like the fact that he has other decent fantasy stats to go along with the possibility of striking out the opposition.

At this time of year, you can’t be picky on the waiver wire.

He toes the rubber this week against Pittsburgh and San Francisco this week, two teams ranking in the bottom four of Major League Baseball in runs scored. If he’s available, get him now.

Tyler Glasnow is solid addition on the fantasy baseball waiver wire. Flickr

Tyler Glasnow, Pittsburgh Pirates, SP

He hasn’t done much this season, but like I said earlier, you can’t be picky on the waiver wire.

Glasnow is still young, but has big-time talent, as evidenced by his 9.7 strikeout-per-nine-inning ratio. That has me optimistic over his potential two-start week, despite his scary 7.34 ERA.

He has two decent matchups this week, with Atlanta (a bottom-half run producing team) and the New York Mets (a bottom-10 hitting team). If he can tone down his walks, Glasnow can be a solid fantasy option, especially with his ability to record strikeouts. He’s given up three or fewer earned runs in three of four starts, so I’m banking on more strikeouts and fewer walks this week.
