What’s the trending bet in Major League Baseball? Here are three teams that are going in the right direction for gamblers.

Cleveland Indians

No, it’s not that the Indians have played well this season. The Indians are 13-21 overall and don’t appear to be the team that many experts predicted as a dark horse winner of the AL Central.

However, the Indians are hot in games featuring the over. For the season, the Indians own 19 overs, compared to 14 unders in the totals category. In the last 10 games, Cleveland has eight overs, thanks to a pitching staff that is allowing plenty of runs and an offensive unit that is putting runs on the scoreboard.

During May, the pitching staff has a 4.30 ERA. If the pitching staff has gotten the job done, the offense has shown the ability to score runs. Other than a 2-0 win and 2-1 loss against the Cardinals, the Indians and their opponents have scored 132 runs since the beginning of May. If those numbers continue, bettors will enjoy the over ride a little while longer.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Noboby’s hotter in the totals category than the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In the last 10 games, LA has nine overs. The only under during that span occurred May 8 in a 2-1 win against the Colorado Rockies (which if this were a list for teams not to bet, the Rockies would be on it. Colorado is 1-9 in its last 10 games).

The overs during this period haven’t been big numbers, with four of the nine featuring totals at nine runs or less. However, the Dodgers are scoring runs at a clip better than any team this month with 84 runs. The pitching is still a quality option for the Dodgers, as the team is toward the best in the league in least amount of runs scored against them. The Dodgers have surrendered 121 runs this season, one more than the New York Mets and six more than St. Louis, which is the best in the league.

Minnesota Twins

If the Minnesota Twins are the favorite, take them.

The Twins are undefeated this year as the favorite at 6-0. Minnesota is one of the biggest surprises of the young MLB season so far, so the Twins have entered most games as the underdog. As the underdog, Minnesota is 17-14, but 6-3 in its last 10. The Twins are starting to see more opportunities as the favorite as they are 3-0 in the last 10 games as the favorite.

Look for oddsmakers to continue to put more favorite tags on the Twins as the season progresses, especially if Minnesota continues to stay above .500.
