If all else fails when gambling on Major League Baseball this summer, the first part of the season has shown that when betting totals, the over is the safest bet.
Out of the 30 teams in MLB, 21 have more overs than unders so far this year. In total, MLB teams have produced 61 more overs than unders this year, with Oakland leading the way.
The A’s have 22 overs in 30 games. That number is four more than any other team in MLB, with San Diego and Atlanta coming in second with 18 overs in 30 and 29 games, respectively.
Many teams are near even in the totals category, but two other teams with strong over records are Mami and Washington with 17 overs apiece.
Despite the majority of teams producing more runs than the predicted total, there are a few teams that are still producing in the under category.
Tampa Bay is leading the way with 18 unders in 29 games. The Rays have scored 105 runs and given up 107 runs. Oakland, on the other hand, has allowed 141 runs and produced 145 runs. The 145 runs doesn’t lead the league, though, as Toronto, which owns 16 overs in 30 games, has 162 runs.
The White Sox haven’t played as many games as the Rays, but their offense has produced the least amount of runs, giving Chicago the least amount of overs at 10 in 25 games. Tampa Bay has 11 overs.
St. Louis, the leader in giving up the fewest runs at 84, has more unders than overs with 15 unders in 29 games.
