It’s no surprise what team is atop the National League West this year.

Oddsmakers weren’t shy who was the favorite in the NL West. The Los Angeles Dodgers began the season as 2/5 odds to win the NL West and 17/2 odds to win the World Series, according to Oddsshark.com.

Now, the Dodgers are 6/1 odds to win the World Series and 1/4 odds to win the NL West. With the season a little more than a month old, oddsmakers have proven to throw plenty of favorite lines at the Dodgers. And so far this season, LA has delivered.

The Dodgers have been favorites in 23 games this season, seven more times than Arizona and Colorado combined. LA owns 15 wins as a favorite, which is one more than the combined wins of the Diamondbacks, Rockies and Giants as favorites.

LA also has shown an aptitude to score runs, going over the total in 13 of its 25 games. In the West, two teams have shown to be quality bets in the totals category.

The Padres have 16 overs in 27 games, while the Giants have taken an opposite approach, registering 15 unders in 26 games. The Giants also have shown more ability as an underdog, going 7-4 in that role, compared to 6-9 as a favorite. The Padres have been the opposite, going 9-6 as a favorite and 5-7 as an underdog.
