The Major League Baseball season will feature several ebbs and flows. Here are a few players who are hot right now that may be available on the waiver wire in fantasy baseball.
Yasmani Grandal
The year didn’t start off so well for Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal. That couldn’t be any further from the truth from where he is now.
In the last five games, Grandal has 15 at-bats. He happens to have 10 hits in those at-bats and he’s making the most of his swings. He’s scored four runs, hit three home runs and driven in 11 runs. He also has worked three walks, giving him an on-base percentage of .684.
Against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, he went 4-for-4 with two homers, eight RBIs and three runs scored.
Fantasy owners are likely picking him up a fast rate, so he may be expensive during the Sunday evening waiver wire.
Brandon Belt
This latest trend for San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt likely won’t last.
In the last week, Belt has gone for 12 hits in 25 at-bats and notched five runs. The problem, even during his hot streak, is that Belt isn’t producing RBIs (he’s had one in the last seven games and six for the season.)
He won’t provide much more than on-base percentage, batting average and runs, but fantasy owners in a pinch for a first baseman could try to ride out this hot streak.
Khris Davis
The Milwaukee Brewers need a spark. For the last three games, Davis has been that fire starter.
Davis is 8-for-11 in his last three games with six RBIs, three runs and one home run. The seven RBIs that Davis has in the last week is one less than what he has for the entire season.
His numbers in the past don’t point toward continued success. However, if you want to go on a rocky ride, pick up Davis on the waiver wire. He will be available.
