So far, Carlos Rodon is avoiding the sophomore slump. That should be good news to fantasy baseball owners backing the former top draft pick for the Chicago White Sox.

Despite the solid start, though, not all fantasy owners are jumping aboard the Rodon bandwagon. He’s still available in more than 40 percent of leagues on ESPN.com. If he’s still available for next week, he’s worth an add so you can benefit from his two starts.

Rodon is the best bet for a two-start week for starting pitchers. He’ll make two home starts, with the first coming Monday against the Los Angeles Angels and the second being against the Texas Rangers.

What makes him so desirable is his ability to record strikeouts, while limiting the opposition’s batting prowess. This season, Rodon has allowed 10 hits in 13 innings, while giving up only two earned runs.

He also has 12 strikeouts in his two games.

The biggest drawback to Rodon’s game this season is his inability to avoid walks, which was what he struggled with last year. In two games this season, he has six walks, with five of those coming in his lone win this season, coming at the expense of Minnesota, one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball this season.

I’m buying Rodon’s stock this season, especially if I can get two home starts in one week from him. His stuff is some of the best among young pitchers and if he’s available, he’s definitely worth an add for this week.

By the way the White Sox are playing as a team, Rodon is likely a solid option in each start this season.
