Injuries are continuing to create the need to keep an eye on the waiver wire in fantasy football.

There were multiple players who showed promise in week 4 who should be on several waiver wires in week 5. Here’s the early week 5 waiver wire options I’m targeting in fantasy football.

T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

With Leonard Fournette once again suffering an injury, Yeldon’s value should be increased once again.

Yeldon has been productive with Fournette missing much of this season, and with another injury, Yeldon should be owned in week 5.

Yeldon had 21 touches, going for 100 total yards and one touchdown in week 4. He’s been a solid option in the passing game in the past and he was used consistently in the rushing attack, which is good news for future usage.

If Fournette is healthy, Yeldon’s value diminishes greatly. However, with Fournette’s status uncertain, keeping Yeldon on your roster is a good idea.

Mike Davis, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Once again, this is all about an injury.

With Chris Carson out for week 4, Davis got the surprise start. He was productive, too, with more than 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The Seahawks have looked better running the football this season and Davis offers some hope for that continued success if Carson is out for a longer period.

Davis is barely owned in fantasy football, so he should be available. The value for Davis is dependent on Carson’s health. If Carson is out, Davis does offer some RB2 upside.

Ronald Jones II, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Nothing worked for Tampa Bay in week 4. Despite the lopsided loss, we saw Jones get his first carries of his rookie campaign.

Jones has been a healthy scratch in every game but week 4. The running game has been atrocious for the Buccaneers, so it was refreshing to see Jones finally get a crack at some playing time.

He wasn’t productive with only 29 yards on 10 carries in week 4. However, it’s noteworthy that he’s finally getting some touches. Jones had major upside entering this season as a rookie, so it’s worth grabbing him off the waiver wire based on the probability that he’ll start to get more touches.

Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Westbrook finally broke out in week 4, hauling in nine catches on 13 targets. He was productive with those catches, too, with 130 yards receiving.

The Jaguars are a difficult team to trust in the passing department, especially with Blake Bortles’ inconsistencies and the lack of a true No. 1 wide receiver.

Westbrook will still have to battle with Donte Moncrief and Keelan Cole for targets, but Westbrook has enough talent to be the better option in most weeks.
