Oakland A’s pitcher Kendall Graveman isn’t going to dominate in the strikeouts category. That’s why he’s on the waiver wire for fantasy baseball owners to pick up this week for two starts.

Even if he’s not going to provide those strikeouts for you, he’s worth a look this week when he toes the rubber for two home matchups, the first against Houston and the second against Tampa Bay.

Graveman is owned in less than 10 percent of leagues on ESPN.com, so he should be available in your league. That’s a bit surprising, since he’s been on a decent run of late.

In four of his last five starts, he’s logged at least 6.2 innings and two or less earned runs. And while the most strikeouts he’s recorded in that stretch is four, he’s allowed more than one walk only once in the past five starts.

Sure, there’s not much of a chance at strikeouts. But he can offer a solid ERA, WHIP and possibly a victory or two for your team, especially this week.

The Astros and Rays are two of the worst offensive teams in Major League Baseball. Houston has made up some ground in recent weeks, but it still owns a .244 batting average for the season, ranking toward the bottom of MLB in that category. Tampa Bay is even worse, with a .239 team batting average, the fourth-worst average in MLB.

Picking up Graveman offers you a chance at two decent shots at quality starts this week. Don’t miss the opportunity.
