Before Sunday night’s waiver wire, make sure Texas Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis is at the top of your two-start pitcher list.

Lewis owns a 2.61 ERA for the season with a 1.08 WHIP. However, that doesn’t paint the complete picture of what has happened during his last three outings.

Against the Los Angeles Angles, Oakland A’s and Houston Astros, Lewis has given up three runs in 21 innings. He’s also notched 18 strikeouts during that period and allowed batters to hit .182.

He’s shown the ability to record strikeouts while limiting runs. Against the Astros, he went eight innings, hurling six strikeouts and one walk.

This week, Lewis will toe the rubber at home against the Royals and Indians. Those are winnable games and those offenses haven’t showed to be too tough on pitchers.

He should be available in most leagues, but many fantasy owners will likely catch on to his recent quality starts, so he may be worth extra money if you’re participating in an auction format.
