The All-Star break is almost upon Major League Baseball. The first half may not have been that great for these two players, but the season’s second half should be much better.

Adam Eaton

Don’t look now, but the Chicago White Sox are hot. A trendy preseason pick to win the American League Central, the White Sox have now won eight of their last 10 games to get to three games under .500. Chicago dug itself into a deep hole in the early part of the season thanks to a less-than-stellar offense.

Now, the offense is catching heat, and Eaton is on the rise.

During the last month, Eaton is batting .279 with a .359 on-base percentage. He’s scored 15 runs in the last 30 days, ranking him 14th among outfielders in Major League Baseball.

His production of late is par for the course compared to his career statistics.

In his three previous years in his career, he owns a better batting average and on-base percentage, and has tallied more runs and stolen bases.

His batting average climbs from .257 to .291 from the first half to the second half, and his on-base percentage goes from .325 to .358 from the first half to the second half.

If his season statistics match his career numbers, he should produce his best month during August. In August, he bats .345 with a .408 on-base percentage.

Eaton is barely owned in fantasy baseball leagues and should be available on the waiver wire.

Ender Inciarte

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte is still on the disabled list. That shouldn’t keep fantasy baseball owners away from him when the All-Star break concludes.

Inciarte is still young. This is his second year in Major League Baseball and has played 63 games this year. In those 63 games, he totaled 39 runs, nine stolen bases and batted .287 with a .316 on-base percentage.

When he comes back, he will have a starting spot waiting for him. And he should find himself on fantasy baseball rosters.

During his second half last year, Inciarte upped his batting average, on-base percentage and stolen bases.

Finding players on the waiver wire who can steal bases is a rarity. Inciarte is likely on the waiver wire in fantasy baseball leagues, so when the season’s second half begins, he should be owned.
