HOT

Chris Colabello

May 19th was the last time that Chris Colabello didn’t have a hit in a game.

The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder is on a 14-game hitting streak, batting .339, which actually happens to be lower than his season batting average at .352. This isn’t the Colabello that fantasy baseball owners have come to expect, with him batting .194 and .229 in the last two seasons.

However, in the first two months of the 2015 season, Colabello has been on a hitting tear, forcing the Blue Jays to play him (he has appeared in 28 games this season; combined during the last two years, he played in 114 games).

In those 28 games, he has 16 runs and RBIs apiece, and four home runs. The most runs he’s scored in a season is 17 in 2014. He’s still available in the majority of fantasy baseball leagues, so he will be a hot commodity during the next round of the waiver-wire.

NOT

Freddy Galvis

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop is having a difficult time hitting the ball.

In his last six games, he’s hitless. Yes, that’s correct. He’s 0-for-21 during that stretch. In the five games before that, he was 5-for-22. For his last 43 at-bats, he has five hits.

Galvis is dropping off almost every fantasy baseball roster. Because he can’t get on base, he’s not contributing elsewhere, scoring three runs in his last 11 games and recording one RBI.

It’s safe to say he will likely be available for the extended future, but fantasy baseball owners should stay away.
