Chicago White Sox rookie Carlos Rodon has suffered through some rookie struggles this season.

However, after a solid outing Friday against Houston, it’s time for fantasy baseball owners to give Rodon a look.

In his first three starts this season, Rodon went a combined 5 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits, two earned runs and four walks. Three of his last four starts have been a different story.

The first-year MLB starter has logged at least six innings in three of his last four outings. Looking past his five earned-run effort against Oakland on May 15, Rodon has allowed four earned runs in three starts. He’s also thrown 16 strikeouts in those three starts.

Rodon’s biggest issue has been walks. On the season, he’s hurled 25 strikeouts compared to 19 walks. He’s ranked 38th in Major League Baseball in walks allowed.

Rodon was the third pick in the 2014 draft, so he’s still young, and coveted by the White Sox. He was ranked as the 15th best prospect in MLB prior to the 2015 season by Baseball America.

He should get more time this season, and his matchup against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, could be a favorable. The Rangers have struck out the second-most times against left-handers in MLB this season.

The future looks bright for Rodon, but later in the year, his workload may be reduced, so be careful with him.
