Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada is still on the waiver wire, but after this past week, he likely won’t be for long.

Estrada has taken a no-hitter into the eighth inning in his last two starts, and the Blue Jays have won the last five games in which Estrada has started. Estrada is 4-0 in those five starts, with his only no-decision coming in his last game, where he went 8 2/3 innings, allowing no runs or walks, two hits, and striking out 10 batters.

In the month of June, he’s allowed 23 hits in 33 2/3 innings, while allowing 11 earned runs. His strikeout numbers aren’t quite at a top-notch level, with 7.8 strikeouts per nine innings average this season.

He’s been hot in the last two starts, but the rest of his season hasn’t gone the way many fantasy baseball owners would want. He owns a 3.45 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP. He also was 1-3 before this five-game hot streak.

This week, Estrada will square off against Boston and Detroit. Those aren’t the best match-ups, but if Estrada can continue his dominance, he should fare well despite facing two teams that are in the top-half of Major League Baseball in batting average.
