What’s the best bet so far in the season’s first month in the National Central Division? The Milwaukee Brewers.

No, it’s not because of the team’s ability to win. Instead, gamblers who have bet against the Brewers, whether as a favorite or underdog, are happy with April’s results.

The Brewers are 2-7 as a favorite and 3-10 as an underdog. Oddsmakers are beginning to come around on the Brewers as an underdog. So far, though, the Brewers have been the dominant force in the Central Division in the over/under category.

While the other four teams have been close to splitting even in that category, the Brewers have been a safer bet toward the over, covering the over 12 times in 22 games.

The most consistent teams in winning have been the Cubs and Cardinals. The Cardinals have been a good bet as a favorite and an underdog. St. Louis is 12-5 as a favorite and 3-1 as an underdog. While the Cubs have been a stellar choice as the favorite at 10-5, Chicago hasn’t been as good as the underdog, going 2-3.

April hasn’t been bad for Pittsburgh or Cincinnati, either. The Pirates are 9-7 as a favorite and 3-3 as an underdog, while the Reds are 6-4 as a favorite and 4-7 as an underdog.
