The way to the World Series title is going through the National League. At least that’s what oddsmakers are saying.

June is here and Oddsshark.com has three NL teams with better odds to win the World Series than Kansas City, which is the favorite in the American League.

Washington leads the way at 6/1 odds to win the World Series and 3/1 odds to win the NL pennant. St. Louis and the Los Angeles Dodgers aren’t far behind, with the Cardinals going off at 15/2 for a World Series championship and 4/1 for a pennant, and the Dodgers at 8/1 odds to win the World Series and 7/2 to win the pennant.

The Cardinals so far have distanced themselves from the rest of the pack with a six-game lead in the NL Central over the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers and Nationals also are in first place, which is much different than the favorites in the American League, but it’s not by much.

LA and St. Louis hold 1/2 game leads over San Francisco and the New York Mets.

Where the American League still has plenty of teams still in the hunt, the National League is full of top-heavy teams and bottom-dwellers in 2015. The Cubs are 17/2 to win the NL pennant, while the Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates are 9/1 to win the NL pennant.

After that, it’s a significant drop off.

Seven teams have odds at 50/1 or worse to win the NL pennant. Oakland owns the worst odds at a pennant in the American League at 45/1.

The Philadelphia Phillies continue to dwell in the cellar with 300/1 odds to win the pennant, 500/1 odds to win the NL East and 750/1 odds to win the World Series. Two weeks ago, the Phillies were 500/1 odds to win the World Series.

The Dodgers, Nationals and Cardinals remain heavy favorites to win their divisions. The Nationals have gone from 1/5 odds two weeks ago to 1/8 odds to win the East. The Cardinals are at 4/11 odds, still far ahead of the Cubs at 4/1. The Dodgers are still ahead of the pace, but the Giants are closing the gap.
