National League Central teams are catching the St. Louis Cardinals in the latest National League pennant odds.

The Cardinals and Washington Nationals are still the favorites to escape the National League with the pennant. However, the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates are catching up.

The Pirates are 6/1 odds to win the NL pennant, while the Cubs are now 7/1 odds. The Cardinals and Nationals are 13/4 odds to win the pennant, as the Cardinals still lead the NL with a 56-33 record. However, the Pirates own the league’s second-best record at 53-35.

The NL Central race has gotten slightly more interesting with the Cardinals still a heavy favorite at 1/4. The Pirates and Cubs are gaining ground, though, going off at 11/4 and 12/1 odds to win the Central.

San Francisco also is gaining momentum, going off at 6/1 odds to win the pennant, while the Los Angeles Dodgers, still the heavy favorite to win the NL West, are 17/4 odds to win the pennant.

The National League continues to be top heavy, with only the New York Mets and San Diego Padres among the already mentioned teams as having better than 40/1 odds to win the NL pennant.

The Philadelphia Phillies still own the worst odds at winning a pennant at 500/1.
