HOT

Justin Bour

Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour’s small sample size of playing time is likely the reason he’s still sitting on the waiver wire.

He’s only seen 168 at-bats this year (teammate Dee Gordon has 361), but during those at-bats, especially in the last month, he’s delivered.

For the season, Bour is batting .268 with 17 runs, 10 homers and 27 RBIs. He should get more playing time in the season’s second half, meaning those numbers will likely rise.

During the last month, he has 17 RBIs, five home runs and eight runs. His RBIs are ranked fifth in the last month and his home run totals are sixth among first basemen.

His Major League Baseball service is relatively new, with this being his second year. However, he’s available and could be a coup in the second half if he can keep up his RBI and home run numbers.

NOT

Adeiny Hechavarria

Heading into the All-Star break, Miami Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria just hasn’t been able to get on base lately.

For the season, he owns a .278 batting average. However, in the last month, that number is .229 with a .288 on-base percentage. Hechavarria specializes in scoring runs, so if he doesn’t get on base, he’s not able to notch runs for fantasy baseball owners.

During this time, he has eight runs, ranking him 18th among shortstops.

If his batting average continues to drop, the rest of his statistics will fall well below average, and make him not worth owning in fantasy baseball leagues.
