Adrian Peterson is changing the way oddsmakers are looking at the Minnesota Vikings.

Since Peterson rejoined the Vikings on Tuesday, betting lines already have moved, according to Oddsshark.com. Gamblers looking for an edge likely already put money on the Vikings before Peterson returned in anticipation of Tuesday’s news.

Before Tuesday, the Vikings were at 9/1 to win the NFC North. They’re still not the favorite at 7/1, but they’ve closed the gap on the favorite Green Bay Packers, which is at -300. The Detroit Lions are still ahead of the Vikings at 11/2. Chicago is in the cellar at 12/1.

The win total prediction hasn’t changed yet for the Vikings, though, with Minnesota still at 7.5 wins. Without Peterson for the majority of the year last year (he played one game), the Vikings won seven games. This year, Minnesota will have Peterson, to go along with second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

In addition to playing NFC North opponents, the Vikings play on the road against San Francisco, Denver, Oakland, Atlanta and Arizona, while hosting San Diego, Kansas City, St. Louis, Seattle and New York Giants.
