With two weeks before the NFL season begins, there’s still time to expose win total projections.

Here are three teams that should go over its projected win total this year.

Minnesota Vikings, over/under 7.5

The weapons are more plentiful, Teddy Bridgewater is a year older and one of the best players in the NFL is back in the lineup.

Oddsshark has the Vikings projected to win less than eight games, which would put them in the bottom 10 teams in the league in regards to over/unders.

Minnesota doesn’t belong with those teams this year, especially since it got better from last year, and it finished 7-9 without Adrian Peterson for 15 of the 16 games. Add in Bridgewater’s development in his second season with new wide receiver Mike Wallace and a steady weapon in Charles Johnson, and this offense should be much improved. The defense also should be one of the better units in the NFC, giving the Vikings a step up on most of the competition on their schedule.

The schedule does feature Green Bay twice, Seattle and at Denver, so those will be difficult tasks. However, the remaining schedule should be manageable, meaning the Vikings should win at least eight games and be a dark horse contender for the playoffs.

Miami Dolphins, over/under 9

This is finally the year for the Miami Dolphins.

New England has too many pieces to replace defensively, and if quarterback Tom Brady is out for four games, the Dolphins should compete for the AFC East title.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill hasn’t been as bad as some experts want you to believe, and he’s consistently gotten better throughout his career. His completion percentage, yards passing, touchdowns and quarterback rating have improved every year since he entered the league in 2012.

And with Ndamukong Suh joining the defense, the Dolphins should have a good enough defensive line where the weaknesses of the secondary can be masked.

The schedule also should be manageable, especially since the Dolphins will play against the AFC South, which includes Jacksonville, Tennessee and Houston. In addition, Miami will play Washington and the New York Jets twice.

Pittsburgh Steelers, over/under 8.5

Pittsburgh’s offense should be one of the best units in the NFL. It’s a far cry from what Pittsburgh was in the past, but the Steelers shouldn’t have any trouble scoring points, even with

Maurkice Pouncey out with an injury.

The biggest issue for the Steelers will be their defense. There is some youth to that side of the ball, but with an offense as dynamic as Pittsburgh will possess, the defense shouldn’t have too much pressure on it. That’s a good sign, considering there will be some growing pains.

Look for Cincinnati to take a step back in the AFC North and the Steelers should win 10 games this season for another playoff berth.

  1. Overall I agree with your over picks but after perusing your site I find too much talk about the viqueens. Please devote more resources towards covering the only team that matters in the nfc Norris division. DA BEARS!!!!!!!!!!
